Read My Lips: Lip-Sync Performance and its Place in Burlesque

Mashing your mouth around to the latest top 40 pop hit isn’t just for the drag queens! In this presentation/discussion based workshop, we will discuss the art of lip-syncing and what its place is within burlesque performance. We will look at the history of lip-syncing, why one may choose to incorporate it into an act, and discuss the “dos and don’ts” of lip-sync performance. This workshop will be primarily conversation based, but if there is time then group review/feedback can be given to participants wanting critique on their own lip-syncing.
